They are seeking an experienced Law Firm Administrator with prior law firm operations experience to lead the business side of the firm. As they continue to grow from a team of five, they are looking for a hands-on operational leader who thinks strategically, tackles challenges head-on, and ensures that internal systems, team support, and infrastructure scale alongside their success. This role works closely with the Founding Partner to oversee day-to-day operations and drive improvements across HR, technology, marketing, and administration. This is a hands-on role in a small but growing firm. The ideal candidate is comfortable both leading and executing, and can step in to handle day-to-day operational needs directly. More About The Opportunity "We are seeking an experienced Law Firm Administrator to provide comprehensive operational leadership across our Human Resources, Information Technology, Project Management, and Office Services functions. Partnering closely with Firm leadership, this role is essential to ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, supporting continued growth, and driving strategic organizational planning." Key Responsibilities Operations: Direct and optimize day-to-day Firm operations across HR, IT, Marketing, and Office Services. Marketing and KPIs: Provide support and guidance to Chief Marketing Officer, and track Firm’s goals with KPIs. Human Resources: Own and manage firm policies and HR programs, including recruitment, performance management, and employee relations Financial Support: Directly coordinate and oversee legal bookkeeping processes, billing, and financial workflows in partnership with external providers Technology & Process: Support the implementation of new technology, including AI, and drive continuous process improvements while maintaining the level of personal service that our clients expect. Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, facilities, and operational resources to ensure strong internal service delivery. Culture Champion: Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and solution-oriented Firm culture. Qualifications The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, hands-on, results-driven leader who thrives in a collaborative, professional services environment and is committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence. Industry Knowledge: 5+ years in a law firm administrator, office manager, or practice manager role within a law firm, with direct experience overseeing law firm operations (including billing, HR, vendors, systems, and staff), and a demonstrated ability to work closely with attorneys/partners in a professional services environment. Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach. Education: Real-world experience is valued as much or more than education. Bachelor’s degree preferred; CLM designation and ALA membership a bonus. You Will Succeed If You Have previously run operations in a law firm or professional services firm Enjoy taking ownership and figuring things out without heavy structure Are comfortable managing both people and processes Can balance big-picture thinking with day-to-day execution This Role is Not This role is not a fit for candidates whose experience is primarily focused in: Legal assistant or paralegal roles without operational leadership HR-only or finance-only roles Corporate legal operations or IT support roles without full operational ownership Details This is a full-time position, with a hybrid schedule: 3–4 days per week in the office Office located in Falls Church, Virginia, outside of Washington, DC, near Metro and bus lines. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $95,000 to $125,000 annually (depending on experience and qualifications). This range represents the Firm’s good faith estimate of the compensation for this role at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, and internal equity considerations. This position is also eligible for performance-based bonus consideration.
