Martin Estate and Injury Law has a new full-time position available in its Vernon head office for a Law Firm Runner / Data Entry & File Clerk. This role is essential for the smooth daily operation of the firm, supporting lawyers and staff through errands, data input, and file organization. The ideal candidate is organized, punctual, tech-savvy, and capable of handling confidential information with professionalism.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Previous office or law firm experience is an asset.
  • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong business writing/proofreading skills, with attention to correct grammar.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail required.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Trustworthy and ethical.
  • Ability to lift boxes/files (up to 30 lbs) and move between office locations.

Responsibilities

Runner duties: delivering and picking up documents and supplies from courthouses, registry offices, other law firms, banks, stores, and clients, as required;
Data entry: maintaining client records, closing legal files, organising physical and electronic case files, and assisting with destruction schedules and storage tracking;
Administrative support: assisting with scanning, copying, and organising documents; assisting with document prep, basic clerical tasks, maintaining office tidiness, and reception relief, when required.
This position is in office, Monday to Friday, with no weekend, evening or holiday work required. Hours are 8:30am to 5pm
