KEY SKILLS, QUALITIES & EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive hands on experience in lawn and turf management, preferably within luxury hospitality or high profile estates
  • Strong knowledge of horticultural practices, plant care and landscape presentation
  • Detail oriented with a passion for creating and maintaining exceptional outdoor spaces
  • Proactive, self motivated and always looking for ways to enhance standards
  • Positive, professional attitude with a willingness to learn and work collaboratively
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure
  • Competence in using, maintaining, and troubleshooting lawn care machinery
  • Awareness of seasonal requirements for lawn and plant care
Responsibilities
  • Carry out all necessary lawn and landscape maintenance tasks as instructed by the Estates Manager
  • Maintain the highest standards of lawn presentation across the hotel grounds, ensuring they reflect the property’s 5-star luxury image at all times
  • Uphold and follow all Estates team SOPs
  • Perform daily health and safety checks in accordance with the company’s health and safety policy
  • Actively participate in training sessions within the Estates team and wider hotel departments
  • Carry out precision lawn care, including mowing to various finishes, edging, scarifying, aerating, feeding and watering
  • Undertake landscape upkeep, including weeding, mulching, pruning shrubs and maintaining ornamental planting beds
  • Operate and maintain a range of horticultural machinery and tools safely and effectively
  • Monitor turf health, identifying and treating any issues such as pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies
  • Assist with seasonal tasks, such as leaf clearance, litter picking and bin emptying, to maintain immaculate grounds year round
