Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of claims, from intake to resolution.
- Proactively handle assigned files, including drafting pleadings, attending discoveries, and preparing for mediation and trial.
- Collaborate effectively within a team structure, ensuring clear communication with team members and clients.
- Identify files ready for settlement discussions and determine suitability for settlement proposals or conferences.
- Review, analyze, and assess incoming medical documentation and other relevant materials.
- Track deadlines and timelines to ensure timely progression of cases.
- Communicate with clients to ensure all documents are organized and the file is current.
- Oversee the management of files, delegating tasks to articling students, legal assistants, production coordinators and billing team as needed.
- Prepare clients for and attend examinations for discovery, motions, mediations, etc.
- Draft comprehensive settlement proposals and actively engage in negotiation processes.
- Uphold ethical standards and professional integrity in all aspects of practice
