Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of claims, from intake to resolution.
  • Proactively handle assigned files, including drafting pleadings, attending discoveries, and preparing for mediation and trial.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team structure, ensuring clear communication with team members and clients.
  • Identify files ready for settlement discussions and determine suitability for settlement proposals or conferences.
  • Review, analyze, and assess incoming medical documentation and other relevant materials.
  • Track deadlines and timelines to ensure timely progression of cases.
  • Communicate with clients to ensure all documents are organized and the file is current.
  • Oversee the management of files, delegating tasks to articling students, legal assistants, production coordinators and billing team as needed.
  • Prepare clients for and attend examinations for discovery, motions, mediations, etc.
  • Draft comprehensive settlement proposals and actively engage in negotiation processes.
  • Uphold ethical standards and professional integrity in all aspects of practice
