Description

We are looking for a dynamic Lawyer to join our legal team. You will be responsible for legal research, drafting and reviewing contracts, and assisting in litigation preparation. This role is an ideal opportunity for a recent law graduate or someone with limited legal experience to develop their skills and make significant contributions to our legal department.

You will join our dynamic legal team and develop your skills in commercial and regulatory law and this, by collaborating with cross-functional teams and align legal objectives with the business strategy of our pharmaceutical company.
Your Key Responsibilities :
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Legal Support and Advice :

  • Conduct legal research and provide concise summaries of findings.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements.
  • Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders on various legal matters.

Strategic Support and Risk Management:

  • Analyze and contribute to various legal mandates, including acquisition and licensing contracts.
  • Play a leading role in risk management, including involvement in critical impact cases and class action lawsuits.
  • Utilize leadership and communication skills to influence decisions and achieve beneficial outcomes for the company.

Data Privacy and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with Canadian data privacy laws and regulations, including PIPEDA and provincial privacy legislation.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments for new projects and initiatives to address privacy risks.
  • Respond to data subject access requests and manage data breach incidents in compliance with Canadian data privacy regulations.

What you’ll bring to the role :

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Admission to the bar and in good standing.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience as a enterprise / corporate lawer.
  • Fluency in oral and written French is mandatory. Due to the nature of our operations, knowledge of English, both oral and written, is required for occasional communication with customers, partners, and/or colleagues, whether in Canada or internationally.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Client-oriented and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Pharmaceutical or healthcare sector experience, an asset.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical regulations, regulatory frameworks, and industry practices, an asset.
  • Understanding of drug development processes and clinical trials, an asset.
  • Experience in reviewing and negotiating contracts commonly used in the pharmaceutical sector (e.g., licensing agreements, manufacturing agreements), an asset.
