Discover more via our website. Your next career opportunity This role is well suited to a lawyer with around 3 years’ post-qualification experience, looking to make their first move in-house. You will work closely with experienced in-house lawyers to provide practical, solution-focused legal advice across HASS activities, including teaching, student, research and engagement matters. You will build confidence managing your own matters while receiving strong mentoring and support on more complex or sensitive issues. What you will deliver: Provide clear, practical legal advice across a range of HASS matters, including education, research, philanthropy and engagement activities. Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements with education and research partners. Take increasing ownership of day-to-day legal matters, with guidance on more complex issues. Develop effective working relationships with academic and professional staff. Contribute to team knowledge sharing and process improvements. You may be a great fit if you: Have around 3 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally in private practice. Hold a current Victorian Practising Certificate (or equivalent qualification). Have experience in commercial contracting and/or exposure to IP, trusts, privacy or administrative law. Possess strong drafting skills and attention to detail. Have a practical, solutions-focused mindset and interest in developing an in-house skillset. Strong communication skills and ability to work with non-legal stakeholders.
