Lightmatter is (re)inventing the future of computing with light! Lightmatter is looking for a Layout Engineering Intern to join our team and contribute to the cutting edge of silicon photonics. You'll gain valuable hands-on experience by translating complex schematics into reliable layouts, while also deepening your understanding of critical layout-dependent effects like latch-up and EMIR. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your knowledge and collaborate in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Responsibilities: Reading schematics and implementing the layout. Understanding layout dependent effects such as latch up and EMIR. Work with the designers to understand the requirements for an efficient and reliable layout. Documenting your process and results. Communicating with members of the team effectively. Requirements: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field. Interest in working on circuit layouts within silicon photonics substrate. Familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso Layout and Caliber/Pegasus layout verification. Great communication skills. Willingness and curiosity to learn from an exciting team! Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
