As a member of the Gateway OneTeam, you will support and demonstrate an understanding of the church’s mission: living the Jesus-centered mission. Key qualifications include possessing a character that reflects biblical godliness, demonstrating a meaningful, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and active involvement in a local body of Christian believers. Developing and implementing lesson plans and activities appropriate for the developmental stage of your students. Actively participating in all activities with the children, including snacks, lunches, and play Delegating tasks to assistants, managing classroom atmosphere, and being a cooperative team member. Provide helpful feedback to parents and guardians on a regular or as-needed basis. Other duties as assigned. Schedule: 35-40 hours per week Monday-Friday, day shift Education: High School diploma or GED. Preferred: CDA or higher education or 2+ years in an early childhood setting. Experience: Have at least two years’ experience working with children the same age level as the center serves. Specific skills: Love working and playing with children; messes and snack time. Have a sense of humor, tolerance, and patience. Physical abilities: Working in childcare is mentally and physically demanding, and aspiring applicants should be prepared for the often-rigorous requirements of this position. Additionally, sufficient mobility to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time in a multi-level facility. Requirements Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Pass a state and federal background check and fingerprinting. Certifications: A current food handlers card and current CPR/First Aid certification. Having knowledge of child development, as evidenced by professional references, education, experience, and on-the-job performance. Able to meet the STARS requirement and be listed in the state training and registry system. Excellent verbal communication skills and strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
Responsibilities
The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, loving, and engaging environment while developing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for Pre-K students. Duties also include delegating tasks to assistants, managing the classroom atmosphere, and providing feedback to parents and guardians.
