Position Summary The Lead Director, Software Development Engineering is accountable for building and executing the Pharmacy modernization technology strategy for the multiple Pharmacy value streams. This technology leader will join forces with business and product leaders to plan, build, execute and deliver a multi-year roadmap for modernization which drives our business and technology strategy forward. The Director will lead a diverse team of technology associates across engineering & change management teams, working across multiple geographies to deliver software engineering work, delivered through multiple agile software releases each year. Accountable for driving the technology strategy in support of these value streams, this leader will be responsible for design, development, testing, delivery, and growth and ensure all opportunities to build industry leading technology assets are fully realized. Responsibilities Accountable for leading the strategy and creation of a multi-year modernization roadmap to support modernization of Retail Pharmacy value streams Accountable for leading the design, foundational framework and development of retail pharmacy products and associated technology assets Accountable for assessment of software engineering practices, driving continuous improvement, improving operational efficiency, time to market and overall product quality Leading engineering teams, guiding and mentoring them in implementing solutions across a wide range of technology platforms People management including hiring, performance management, team building, leading career growth and skill development through coaching, and setting measurable professional goals Building and cultivating strong relationships with Business, Product and Technology partners to support the delivery roadmap Building relationships and partnerships with vendors to build contingent teams working onshore and offshore/nearshore to support our staffing needs Building relationships and partnerships with solution vendors in support of our technology needs Technology Research and Innovation to develop a long-term strategy based on emerging trends in healthcare and technology industries Required Qualifications 10+ years of Technology Delivery experience 5+ years of experience leading high performing engineering teams 5+ years of experience in application development using Java, Spring boot, Microservices , React , Kubernetes, Docker 3+ years of experience in GCP /AWS cloud 2+ years of experience using AI tools and delivering solutions Preferred Qualifications Experience working with distributed teams, working across multiple time zones and geographies Experience in the health and wellness domain Experience conceiving and building healthcare products Performance / people management experience Experience conceiving and building products for Pharmacy Experience in Healthcare or Pharmacy technology Experience working with offshore vendors Experience working with technology vendors The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment Education Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience) Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $144,200.00 - $288,400.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
