I. Job Summary WM is currently looking for a Leachate Coordinator at our Twin Creeks Landfill. This person, in collaboration with the existing team, will be primarily responsible for the operation of our water treatment process. Our operations include pumping station operation, network maintenance, sampling and wastewater treatment plant operation. Location: 8039 Zion Line, Watford, ON Schedule: Monday to Friday with an approx. 6:30 am start time II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate all components of landfill leachate treatment plants on a daily basis. Operate and monitor computerized control systems for the operation of pumping stations and treatment plants. Carry out checks on all equipment, such as pumps, filters, membrane systems, multi-flo and measuring devices, to ensure proper operation of plant systems. Sample wastewater, surface water and groundwater as required. Perform laboratory analysis and make adjustments to plant equipment and systems as required. Carry out safety checks on the entire treatment chain, including our treatment plants, pumping stations and force mains. Manage and control the inventory and supply of parts needed. Communicate and apply company policies, procedures and safety rules. Write procedures and reports related to daily activities. Carry out the necessary preventive maintenance to ensure that our facilities operate to the required standards. Plan and coordinate work with other company departments, including subcontractors. Assist, where necessary, qualified tradespeople with the installation and repair of process equipment and instrumentation. All other related tasks. III. Qualifications A. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or G.E.D (accredited). No prior work experience. B. Preferred Qualifications Post-secondary diploma in environmental and waste/water operations considered an asset Experience with pumps, meters, PLCs considered and asset IV. The expected base pay range for this on-site position is $65,000 - $70,000. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
