Description:

Qualified candidates will serve as the key liaison between the accounting team and senior management, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, maintenance, reconciliations, A/R, A/P, billing and month-end close processes.
  • Prepare and be responsible for payroll processing and review of all payroll compliance and reporting.
  • Fixed Assets management and reporting for local, state and federal agencies including property tax agencies.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities in collaboration with department leads.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls across all accounting functions.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
  • Provide support for all federal tax preparation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic financial initiatives.
  • Make recommendations for software and tools to improve processes and operating procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited University required; CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
  • 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a professional services environment or public accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software; ERP industry preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft applications.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in time-based billing environments (e.g., legal, consulting, engineering).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel including pivot Tables and functions such as VLOOKUP.
