LEAD ACCOUNTANT JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Accountant to join our accounting and finance team at Diesel Power Group.
As the Lead Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the month-end and year-end close process, prepare and post journal entries, ensure completeness of accounting transactions, use your accounting & analytical skills to analyze and reconcile accounts, create and document policies and procedures, prepare financial reports, prepare variance reports to budget and analyze variances, collaborate with other departments and work with external auditors.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in accountancy/finance field including period-end closings and financial statement preparation
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and precision in tasks
  • Proficiency in general ledger accounting, ERP systems software and Excel/Microsoft suite including Vlookups and Pivot Tables (Experience with Odoo is a plus)
  • Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Effective writing and speaking communication skills including active listening
  • A passion for math, problem solving, analysis, interpretation and error-free work
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Confidentiality
  • Cost accounting experience is a plus
  • Relevant certification (e.g. CPA or CMA) is a plus
  • Desire for advancement as the company grows
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
