LEAD ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR

Looking for a role where you can truly make a difference? As a Lead Activities Coordinator, based in Muswell Hill, London, you’ll be at the heart of creating vibrant, engaging experiences for our residents. We need a creative, passionate individual to design and deliver exciting, inclusive activities that bring joy, connection, and purpose to older adults.
From social events to physical and cognitive activities, you’ll craft a programme that keeps residents active, engaged, and feeling part of a thriving community. You’ll also build connections with local groups, bring in volunteers, and make every day special for those in our care.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR – ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A relevant qualification in social care, recreational therapy, or a related field (e.g., Level 3 (QCF) Supporting the Activities Provision, degree in Occupational Therapy or similar).
  • At least one additional certification in arts/music therapy, community engagement, or music.
  • Proven experience in planning and implementing activities or programmes for older adults, ideally within a care home setting with at least 60 beds.
  • Strong understanding of the physical, emotional, and social needs of older adults.
  • Knowledge of best practices in activity programming for residential care.
  • Awareness of safeguarding, regulatory requirements, and safety standards related to activities in care settings.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • NAPA qualifications and training.
  • Experience managing volunteers and engaging the community in activities.
  • Background in coordinating events or programmes in a health or social care environment.
  • Experience leading group activities or workshops.
  • Familiarity with local community resources and potential partnerships for engagement.
