WHAT YOU’LL DO AT ELEKTA
As a Senior Algorithm Engineer at our Helsinki office, you will play a key role in guiding algorithm engineers and shaping high-quality clinical software. You will lead feature and algorithm development, ensure medical device requirements are met, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to deliver accurate and efficient solutions. This position involves both hands-on coding in C++ and Python (or similar), as well as planning and coordinating releases that make a genuine impact on patient care.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Prototyping and evaluating algorithms with performance, robustness, and accuracy in mind
- Guiding algorithm engineers in coding, documentation, and process improvements
- Leading development activities for specific features or algorithms, ensuring medical device requirements are consistently met
- Scoping, estimating effort, and scheduling algorithm releases
- Designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining compute-intensive software (primarily in C++)
- Participating in architectural, design, and requirements engineering discussions
- Managing risk analysis, producing documentation aligned with QA standards, and contributing to user documentation and training
- Keeping progress, status, and risks transparent to project teams and stakeholders
- Staying up to date on engineering best practices, tools, and methodologies, as well as radiotherapy industry developments
- Providing expert product support to the service department, and giving input on IT hardware and development tools
