Job entails assisting the anesthesiology staff and Perfusionists within the operating room in order to facilitate patient care. Also entails managing anesthesia technician in their roles and daily operational duties.

    1. Clinical Responsibilities:
    • 1.1 Function at the level of an Anesthesia Tech III.

    1. Operational Responsibilities:



      • 2.1 Supervise daily activities of anesthesia technicians to ensure optimal staffing and workflow.


        1. Quality and Safety Responsibilities



          • 3.1 Works with coordinators for clinical quality to ensure that all departmental and hospital QI needs are addressed in conjunction with the anesthesia tech supervisor.


            1. Team Leadership:



              • 4.1 Train and mentor new staff and existing team members to enhance competencies.

                  • 5.1 Actively seek and apply constructive feedback to improve performance and contribute to a positive work environment.

                    Qualifications:

                  EDUCATION

                  Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, prefer Associates degree in Biological Sciences. Factory approved training in basic trouble shooting for anesthesia machines, physiologic monitors, blood gas machines, rapid infusers.

                  EXPERIENCE

                  Internal: Minimum of Twelve months experience as an anesthesia technician II or equivalent health care experience. External: CPR Certification, ASATT Certification preferred.

                  SPECIAL SKILLS

                  Employee must exhibit excellent communication skills. Individual must be able to tolerate high stress areas of work. Knowledge of seven step cleaning and decontamination techniques are highly desired. Basic computer skills are required to perform daily tasks in OR applications to include email, RFID equipment tracking system and Epic status board. Individual is expected to achieve competence in all required skills after completion of department training program, including passing departmental competencies. Employee must possess good interpersonal skills in order to participate as a member of the Perioperative Support staff. Employee promotes team work, leads by example demonstrating a positive attitude and consistently meets expectations of perioperative services.
