The Applications Engineer will lead / support assigned projects through all stages of the project lifecycle. Key elements of the role will include tendering new business opportunities, including developing suitable manufacturing strategies, writing detailed technical requirements documents, leading equipment procurement / vendor tendering, completing new business costing and financial analysis, writing customer proposals, and leading quotation financial reviews with senior management and presenting proposals to customers. The role will also involve healthcare site construction and fit-out program management to add manufacturing space / capacity as necessary to support new business as well as leading new manufacturing technology introduction projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering (construction, mechanical, manufacturing, or equivalent).
• At least five years’ experience in healthcare facility construction and fit-out specialising in cleanrooms and infrastructure for moulding and assembly.
• Previous experience as lead Project Manager for Healthcare construction project with budget > €10M.
• Experience working with and managing contractors and sub-contractors.
• Experience costing and quoting large complex projects.
• Project management qualification an advantage.
• Comfortable taking on new technologies.
• Comfortable working is a fast dynamic environment with constant change.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• AutoCAD experience an advantage.

• Develops manufacturing strategy options and solutions, prepares tendering cost models and writes/ detailed technical proposals that address Customers’ Requests for Quotation.
• Leads RFQ teams within Jabil, collecting all necessary technical information, customer specifications in order to prepare and deliver detailed quotations / proposals to Customers ensuring the required submission deadlines are achieved.
• Develops equipment specifications, tender documents, for tendering equipment with suitable vendors, completes vendor solution selection comparisons.
• Completes financial analysis, COGs, CAPEX, P&Ls, ROIs, Cash Flow Plans etc. to support costing and pricing quotations and presents same to senior management.
• Develops and delivers presentations to Customers on the submitted proposals.
• Drives continuous improvement in our tendering process in terms of quality, accuracy and efficiency.
• Delivers training to engineering teams on the RFQ process and templates.
• Develops, maintains and publishes analytics on our RFQ submissions.
• Leads assigned projects with accountability for overall project success – including cost/budget, schedule, quality, and scope management.
• Clarifies and communicates project objectives and success criteria.
• Develops and owns project plans, establishing clear project milestone dates and clear deliverables.
• Uses lean six sigma approach in solution designs and project execution.
• Facilitates communication as appropriate to all involved and ‘manages’ stakeholders. This includes escalating issues to management.
• Provides regular project updates to project team, relevant departments, stakeholders, and senior leadership as needed.
• Establishes and maintains communications with both customer personnel and senior management as needed.
• Mentors and coaches project team members.
• Travels as required to support programs, e.g., Jabil construction projects, equipment buy-offs, customer visits, supplier visits etc.
• Applies Lean Manufacturing principles to all projects.
• Promote, support and drive the use of Lean and continuous improvement principles across the team and
• Role model and promote the organization’s Values & Behaviours.
• Comply with all corporate safety, environmental and quality policies.
• Must take personal accountability for own safety whilst supporting a culture of safety management through compliance with all safety policies, safety observation reporting, and proactive involvement in Jabil safety programs.
