Lead Architect

An established Australian higher education organisation is undertaking significant digital transformation and is seeking an experienced Lead Architect to help shape its future technology landscape.

Bridging enterprise and solution architecture, you'll provide architectural leadership across cloud, applications, integration, data and security while strengthening architecture governance across the organisation.

The Role

You will:

• Define and embed architecture governance, standards, frameworks and patterns.
• Lead solution architecture across major technology initiatives.
• Shape target-state architectures, technology roadmaps and strategic direction.
• Partner with integration leadership to evolve API, messaging and iPaaS architecture.
• Provide architectural direction across Azure, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and hybrid environments.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, resilient and aligned with enterprise standards.
• Advise senior stakeholders on technology strategy, investment and solution options.
• Support business cases, tenders, procurement and vendor evaluations.
• Guide external architects, vendors and delivery partners.
• Mentor architecture team members and contribute to the maturity of the architecture practice.

About You

You will ideally bring:

• 10+ years' technology architecture experience, including 5+ years in senior Solution, Enterprise, Principal or Lead Architecture roles.
• Strong Microsoft Azure and cloud architecture expertise.
• Demonstrated experience establishing or operating architecture governance.
• Strong enterprise integration experience across APIs, messaging, middleware and/or iPaaS.
• Broad architecture exposure across applications, data, security and infrastructure.
• Experience developing target-state architectures, roadmaps and architecture standards.
• Strong vendor, consultancy and senior stakeholder management experience.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership and mentor architects or delivery teams.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or architecture certifications such as TOGAF are highly regarded.
