SKILLS BRIEF

  • Experience in a GMP regulated environment is essential and only candidates with this experience can be considered (The following experience will be consideration – Pharma, Life Sciences, Biotech or Medical Devices manufacturing).
  • Extensive experience delivering automation projects (PLC and SCADA), with expertise in the following technologies: SCADA, historian, thin client ,active directory and group policy permissions.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Siemens S7 300, 400/1500, Allen Bradley, IFIX, Siemens WinCC and Wonderware.
  • Demonstrable cybersecurity experience with knowledge of industrial standards such as S95, S88, ISA 18.2, iec62443 and industry 4.0 principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions.
  • Experience managing a team of engineers and providing technical leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with project teams, clients, and vendors.

ROLE BRIEF

The successful candidate will lead a team who provide automation support and automation solutions to manufacturing and support operations at the manufacturing site. You will work in collaboration with a variety of functions onsite such as Validation, Manufacturing, Technical Operations, Site Services, Project Engineering and QA.

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to all control system-related issues. Tasks include but not limited to, daily troubleshooting, optimization, and documentation control.
  • In close collaboration with the Automation Manager develop and maintain the site automation strategy including its key site metrics and action plans.
  • Develop and maintain site automation systems and procedures to maximize production, minimize cost, and meet quality for the site.
  • Provide functional expertise to support daily operations and ensure prompt decisions on technical issues.
  • Leadership of control system validation activities during project start-up.
  • Life cycle management of the on-site control systems, to GAMP 5 requirements.
  • Project management of control system elements of continuous improvement projects.
  • Project management and technical development of future integrations of the control systems, with planned MIS and ERP systems.
  • Define proposals for long-term plans for control system maintenance, obsolescence remediation, and improvements for management.
  • Implementing changes to GMP systems under change management.
  • Attendance at Tier meetings, developing action plans, tracking & executing closure of Automation-related tasks for the team.
  • Leadership & delivery of the OT patching program for OSD Control systems.
