Overview Mika, the Mediterranean restaurant by James Beard Award–winning Chef Michael White, is seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Bartender to oversee bar operations and deliver an exceptional beverage experience. This role is ideal for a skilled bartender who leads by example, thrives in a high-volume environment, and brings creativity, consistency, and professionalism to the bar. The Lead Bartender plays a key leadership role within the front-of-house team, supporting service standards, mentoring bar staff, and ensuring a polished and efficient bar program. Key Responsibilities Bar Leadership & Operations Lead day-to-day bar operations during service Set the standard for hospitality, service, and beverage execution Support training, scheduling, and development of bartenders and barbacks Maintain organization, cleanliness, and readiness of the bar at all times Beverage Execution & Knowledge Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits with accuracy and consistency Demonstrate strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails Maintain knowledge of wine, spirits, and menu pairings Assist in executing and maintaining Mika’s beverage program standards Guest Experience Provide warm, engaging, and professional hospitality to bar guests Build rapport with regulars and VIPs Handle guest feedback and service recovery with confidence and care Administrative & Compliance Assist with inventory management, ordering, and cost control Ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with local regulations Communicate effectively with management, servers, and kitchen staff Support opening and closing bar procedures Qualifications Minimum 3–5 years of bartending experience; lead or supervisory experience preferred Fine-dining or upscale-casual experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, cocktails, and bar operations Ability to lead calmly and efficiently during high-volume service Professional appearance and polished demeanor Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays Why Join Mika Work with a chef-driven, hospitality-focused restaurant brand Lead a dynamic bar program in a premier Coral Gables location Growth opportunities within an established restaurant group Competitive compensation and earning potential
