SUMMARY

Responsible for supervision of F&B Employees, and for serving food and beverage to members and guests in the F&B and surrounding areas according to Pinehurst standards in a timely manner.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required and a minimum of 1 year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Food and beverage experience in the hotel or resort guest service industry preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for complete and efficient setup, breakdown, and clean-up of the dining areas.
  • Ensure F&B area is properly set for service period.
  • Allocate the service stations for meal periods.
  • Assign side work and supervise all cleaning and stocking assignments.
  • Ensure proper supplies are on hand at all times in order to effectively service the guests.
  • Responsible for handling all guest concerns that arise in dining outlet.
  • Responsible for knowledge of menus and daily specials.
  • Responsible for providing quality bar, wine, and cocktail service within North Carolina ABC guidelines and in accordance with Pinehurst Resort’s Alcoholic Beverage Service Policy.
  • Can perform all duties of servers and bartenders.
  • Is familiar with pertinent ABC laws.
  • Operate Info Genesis POS system with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Proficient with micros and required paperwork.
  • Responsible for maintaining cash banks (where applicable), insuring complete and accurate client billing with legible documentation of all transactions to include totaling, accepting payment, and processing the payments. If Guest is staying in the hotel, request “Guest resort pass.”
  • Responsible for proper gathering, maintaining, return and storage of all F&B operational equipment and assisting with the security and loss prevention of equipment.
  • Maintain overall presentation of F&B areas by ensuring that tables and chairs are clean and straight, floors, walls, and restrooms are clean; light bulbs are not burnt out and condiments are clean and full according to standards.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new Employees.
  • Alert Manager immediately if a Guest has a suggestion, complaint, or issue.
  • Participate in Employee meetings, training, and daily line ups.
  • Maintain Guest confidentiality.
  • Observe diners to fulfill any additional requests and to perceive when meals have been completed.
  • Assist Guest with food selection and information about food items.
  • Participate and assist in controlling the loss and waste of food and beverage product and following F&B guidelines with regard to staff food and beverage consumption.
  • Assist with Period End inventory and respond to P & L statement.
  • Responsible for knowledge of Pinehurst’s facilities and amenities to assist Guests with directions and questions.
  • Responsible for communication with Stewarding every day at 2PM and 5PM for trash pickup.
  • Complete requisition at the end of shift so can be re stocked as opening duty.
  • Because of the fluctuating demands of the operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or directed.
  • Adhere to all of the various written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, etc., all of which go to make up the essential functions of the job.
  • Responsible for providing food and beverage service at its finest in all aspects and modes of dining activity.
  • Responsible for proper and efficient dining and banquet setup.
  • In this position you will be expected to be available to work in various locations of Food and Beverage outlets depending on business levels. In addition, you will be expected to work holidays wherever needed even if your primary outlet is closed.
