POSITION SUMMARY The Lead Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinician is an integral member of a multidisciplinary team within a multicultural Community Health Center. This position is responsible for coordinating and delivering high‑quality, cost‑effective behavioral health services to patients engaged in outpatient treatment. The Lead Clinician serves in a dual role—providing direct clinical care while also supporting the clinical, administrative, and supervisory needs of the Outpatient Behavioral Health Program. The role promotes excellence in clinical practice, staff development, and program quality. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical Leadership & Department Support Assist new hires with onboarding to department workflows, expectations, documentation practices, and clinical competencies. Support the development, implementation, coordination, promotion, and evaluation of outpatient behavioral health services. Collaborate with and support the Behavioral Health Program Manager in implementing effective performance management processes. Provide coverage for clinical case review meetings in the Program Manager’s absence. Provide clinical and administrative coverage for the outpatient behavioral health program when the Program Manager is unavailable. Assist the Director of Social Services and Behavioral Health Program Manager in cultivating relationships with community partners and external agencies. Participate in the collection, analysis, and reporting of quality assurance (QA) data as needed. Direct Clinical Services Provide comprehensive behavioral health treatment, including individual, couples, and group psychotherapy; intake assessments; and treatment planning. Demonstrate strong leadership, high ethical standards, and exemplary clinical practice, modeling professionalism for fellow clinicians. Provide clinical consultation and support to behavioral health clinicians as needed. Provide clinical supervision, caseload oversight, and productivity support to outpatient behavioral health clinicians. Student Training & Supervision Develop and maintain the social work student internship program: a. Serve as a liaison to Schools of Social Work, coordinating MSW and BSW student placements. b. Provide individual and group clinical supervision to social work interns. Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned by the Outpatient Behavioral Health Program Manager. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in clinical social work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field. Independent licensure required (e.g., LICSW, LMHC, LP). Minimum of two years of post‑graduate clinical experience. Multilingual skills strongly preferred, including English, Portuguese, Cape Verdean Creole, Haitian Creole, French, and/or Spanish. WORKING CONDITIONS Fast‑paced community health center located in a downtown business district. Occasional extended hours may be required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift small equipment or boxes up to 20 pounds. Primarily sedentary role with routine interoffice walking. Visual acuity necessary for frequent reading. Hearing acuity sufficient for conversations with or without audio devices.
