LEAD BEHAVIORAL TECHNICIAN   Job Summary: The Lead Behavioral Technician is responsible for providing support and structure specifically for the care of our co-occurring population. As lead you work to ensure a positive experience for clients by maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. The lead will assist with the execution of daily operations, oversee staff training, and maintain performance standards. They provide a positive example that follows the lead of the Clinicians, Executive Director and Program Director. They will maintain the expectations of the company and stay compliant with company policy. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: * As the primary point of contact for the shift, actively seek to resolve issues and communicate any concerns to the Program Director. In situations where you can resolve an issue do so adhering to company policy. * Ensure client engagement in daily programming striving to always maintain active participation. Communicate any issues with client participation to the Program Director. * Development of Client Surveys through Survey Monkey. Completion of surveys throughout client stay (beginning first 4-7 days, middle, discharge, and post discharge).  Coordinate parent surveys at discharge. * Coach, train, and mentor Behavioral Technician team members. Ensure company goals and objectives are being met by each team member and provide constructive feedback; may participate in providing input to performance reviews.  Communicate positive and corrective feedback to the Program Director. * Assign and/or oversee daily tasks for technicians on shift to ensure a clean workplace, this includes stocking supplies, and maintaining refrigerator/pantry inventory and that all items have open date stickers. * Maintain a weekly inventory for art supplies, toiletries, and groceries. * Ensure all technicians take their rest and meal breaks in compliance with company policy and state regulations. * Ensure that clients’ weekly scheduled UAs are completed, documented and prepared/scheduled for pick-up. * Document client daily activities, unusual behavior, and pertinent information in the client’s EMR. Audit the EMR at end of shift to confirm all tech notes are completed. * Conduct client Intake/Discharge Inventories and document all items in the EMR system. * Provide line of sight supervision to clients throughout the duration of your shift. * Provide and facilitate educational and support groups assigned and promptly document these activities in the clients’ records. Audit the EMR at end of shift to confirm all tech group notes are completed. * Ensure team members are completing required training, certifications, surveys, etc. to support compliance and professional growth. * Provides crisis intervention services when authorized and necessary. * Provide and facilitate educational and non-substantive counseling groups assigned and promptly document these activities in the client’s records. * Prepare and monitor medication self-administration documenting all details in EMR. * Complete, update and maintain the Centrally Stored Medication and Destruction Log for all clients. * Ensure that clients are in designated group area prior to the start of every group; prompt and encourage clients to join every scheduled group and communicate a client’s refusal to the appropriate parties. * Schedule unannounced room and facility searches to always ensure the clients safety. Communicate with the Program Director any contraband or safety issues identified. * Transport clients to offsite appointments as assigned and maintain a safe driving record. * Collect, prepare, schedule, FedEx pickup and record UA POC results in EMR. * Provide clients their approved belongings during designated leisure time periods and collect them at the end of designated leisure periods. * Assist clients with activities of daily living, including, cleaning, putting belongings away, folding laundry, clean up after meals, etc. Complete other house chores as assigned. * Carry out other responsibilities as designated.   Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position. * Analytical—the individual synthesizes complex or diverse information. * Problem solving—the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully. * Oral communication—the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills and conducts productive meetings. * Safety and security—the individual observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly. * Self-Motivation: Willingness to provide the initiative required to accomplish an assignment with minimal supervision, as well as the ability to work independently and accomplish desired results. * Time Management: Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute tasks. Required Skills/ Abilities: * Solid communication skills (written and oral), collaboration and intervention skills. * Ability to problem solve, identify, and resolve problems in a timely manner. * Strong attention to detail with the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment. * Self-motivated take initiative to accomplish daily task with minimal supervision, as well as the ability to work as a group to carry out daily chores. * Ability to assign and delegate the work of others, follow-up, provide positive reinforcement or corrective coaching and guidance, as needed. * Extensive knowledge of management strategies and practical application in the workplace * Ability to handle and use good judgement on multiple issues concurrently and in rapid succession. * Cooperative positive and enthusiastic attitude toward fellow employees, clients, and visitors including in the face of resistance or adversity. * Ability to coach and mentor others.   Education and Experience: * Possess a High School diploma or GED; AA or BA in related field preferred. * Valid first aid and CPR certification. * Have a minimum of 2-3 years or more of experience in the social service field. * Demonstrate a genuine desire to work with the population served. * Must have worked in the company for at least 1 year as a Technician and proven ability to set an example to less experienced Technicians. * Current drivers’ license, insurance and clear DMV record. * Certification in mental health preferred.   Physical Requirements: * Able to sit and stand for long periods, bending, stooping and/or frequent walking. * Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds. * Position requires walking up a steep incline, oftentimes in the heat. * Constantly operates a computer with other office machinery. * Frequently communicates with other employees and clients. * Must be able to travel between assigned facilities via car.
