Inova Clinical Analytics is looking for a dedicated Lead BI Developer to join the Team. This remote role will be full-time day-shift from Monday – Friday. The Lead Business Intelligence Developer assesses requirements and designs a data strategy for developing and implementing processes necessary for the creation of proper BI output contents. Oversees the consistency in BI content creation across the enterprise; and efficient leveraging of common data sources and definitions. Guides proper content design and necessary data architecture across the Enterprise in a federated user/departmental environment. Provides subject matter expertise on the infrastructure strategy, evaluation, purchase, testing, installation and maintenance of the hardware and software systems infrastructure necessary to ensure optimal BI system performance. Leads a team-oriented environment interacting with Business Intelligence Developers, IT staff, clinical staff, and others. Functions with a high degree of independence to proactively identify needs or issues, develop strategies and propose/implement data model solutions. May also be called upon to develop clinical and operational solutions of varying complexity. Leads the development, modification, support and adherence to a system wide business intelligence strategy. Lead BI Developer Responsibilities: Facilitates problem resolution, escalations, and system-wide troubleshooting and support with demonstrably superior level of proficiency. Recognizes the contributions of all team members and implements all work with an interdisciplinary approach. Implements and maintains databases to ensure optimal data structure for BI reporting. Manages complex BI project to provide efficient and impactful BI solutions that meet Inova health System's business needs. Supports applications and facilitates updates, new releases and system enhancements. Communicates project and team status to internal and external audiences including the operations teams, steering committees, Executive sponsors and project principles as required Ensures consistent BI content delivery across the enterprise and across projects Contributes to the overall BI best practices, data architecture and governance standards across the department Leads and guides team members on their day-to-day activities Analyzes the use of data and interpreting data directly against requirements. Captures source data characteristics and abstracting them into consolidated data repository with proper data lineage and change control – including data from internal and external sources, also on premises or from the Cloud. Determines the logical design characteristics and information management strategies necessary to store, move, and manage data from a wide variety of database platforms. Creates, vets and publishes data sources for common use in our BI tools (currently Tableau, Crystal and EPIC reporting products). Gathers, documents, and designs data integration and data visualization requirements for projects for small organizations through large corporations. Assists BI content creators to rapidly generate impactful, interactive visualizations with consistent and proper data elements. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree; or Associate’s degree and 2 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required; or HS Diploma/GED and 4 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required Experience: 5 years of experience working with BI Developers and end users Certification: BI Tools Preferred Qualifications: Epic certifications in Clarity Data Model and Clinical Data Model preferred. Experience with clinical reporting preferred. Proven ability to represent the Team effectively in cross-functional and executive forums. Demonstrated experience establishing and upholding documentation and development standards within an analytics or BI Team.
