JOB SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide quality, therapeutic intervention services to school-aged students who are presenting with communication disorders and delays. The Behavior Analyst Clinical Supervisor (BACS) is responsible for providing Behavior Services in the public school setting. The BCBA will provide services in a manner that is sound and consistent with the laws and ethics of the profession, while adhering to the specific policies and protocols of each school. The BACS will evaluate students and will develop and monitor individualized goals and plans according to treatment plan and IEP’s. BACS’s are responsible for implementing school based ABA programs. They perform duties that are clinical in nature.. The Clinical Supervisor does in vivo training of BTs as well as performs administrative responsibilities pertaining to a child’s case.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Complete treatment notes and progress reports in a timely manner according to school policy and company billing policies.
  • Manage a detailed log of service provided and services missed due to student or therapist absences.
  • Provide Behavior Services to children, adolescents, and families in the school setting
  • Develop Individualized Education Plan goals related to socio-emotional and behavioral functioning
  • Provide assessment, progress and exit reports in a timely manner (5 days prior to a scheduled IEP meeting)
  • Document all consultation, treatment sessions, & relevant communication on a daily basis, as well as provide appropriate documentation to interdisciplinary team when needed
  • Continuously evaluate client needs, consult with colleagues, and keep treatment plan up to date in order to help each client reach his or her potential
  • Maintain client files and treatment logs in a manner that is sound and consistent with CA state guidelines
  • Communicate with Supervisors/Directors regarding any changes in status, problems, or intent to change any aspect of services already in place; and, to discuss same with Directors prior to discussing with client’s family or referral source
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required (e.g., STS team meetings, IEP meetings)
  • Keep careful record of billable hours and update timesheet on a daily basis
  • Monitor progress using observation, data collection and pre-post assessment.
  • Ensure students’ skills are generalized across settings by collaborating with IEP teams including teachers, related service providers, and learning coach/parent.
  • Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate kindness and compassion to relate well to students and their families.
  • Participate in the preparation and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEP) identified students on caseload.
  • Prepare records and reports for eligibility evaluations, services IEP and transitions according to program procedures or as directed.
  • Adhere to special education rules, regulations, procedures and timelines of the special education code.
  • Ensure evaluations, treatment plans and service delivery are aligned with school, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Serve as a resource consultant and trainer to provide specialized suggestions and/or materials for use by educators and/or parents and assist with registering students with the appropriate agencies that serve the students .
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current best practices in the area of Mental and Behavioral Health Services and stay up to date with current best practices.
  • Conduct Behavior assessments as part of initial and triennial reviews
  • Participate as a specialist in the area of mental health in determining eligibility.
  • Provide Crisis Management
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, psychiatrists, and IEP team members to promote student success and coordination of care

ADDITIONAL DUTIES: (may include)

  • Manage caseload demands including managing multiple priorities, schools, deadlines, and timelines.
  • Demonstrate good judgment, decision-making, and communication skills with a variety of individuals and groups.
  • Provide supervision and/or mentorship to Level 1 Behavior Staff
  • Providing leadership/mentorship to staff
  • Coordinate and/or provide Continuing Education to Behavior department
  • Conduct trainings and presentations to current staff
  • Perform annual reviews of current staff.
  • Coordination and maintenance of department supplies/testing kits, protocols
  • Coordination of behavior services to clients of STS

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES:

  • BCBA or BCaBA
  • Master’s degree in a related in Psychology, Child Development, Communication Disorders, Education or related field
  • At least 5 years experience in a pediatric setting with ABA related work.
  • Valid CPR/First Aid/AED infant/child/adult certification for clinic based positions
  • Ability to pass background/fingerprint clearance, health screenings and provide/obtain immunizations (TB) valid within the last year.
  • Masters Degree in a mental health field. This could be a Master of Social Work (MSW), a Master of Psychology (MA or MS), or a Master of Counseling (MC or MEd)
  • Valid Driver’s License, proof of auto insurance, and reliable transportation. Virtual providers are exempt from this requirement.
  • Ability to travel to school sites and/or clinics for in-person providers. Virtual providers are exempt from this requirement.
