The Integrated Corporate Services (ICS) is a new shared corporate service, launched in July 2023. It provides corporate services (HR, Finance, Digital, Commercial, Security and Estates) across the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) and the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology (DSIT).

You will work in the User-Centred Design (UCD) team alongside our user researchers, service designers, content designers, interaction designers and business analysts. Your role within the team:
We support Departments by delivering core technology services which help them achieve strategic and policy objectives. We are recruiting a Lead Business Analyst to help us support the delivery of Digital Services and contribute to developing the Business Analysis profession. We are looking for hard-working, forward-thinking people with strong interpersonal and analytical skills who enjoy working collaboratively with others to solve problems.
As a Lead Business Analyst, you will be involved in developing the Business Analysis function within ICS. You will be accountable for the quality, coverage and management of business analysis across programmes and projects. You will also mentor other members of the team, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, tools and support to provide quality business analysis. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of diverse and interesting projects which make a real difference to people’s lives.
You will be part of the Digital Directorate, which is a cross-departmental team that provides digital solutions and services to support the delivery of DESNZ and DSIT’s objectives. We follow agile principles and practices to deliver high-quality products that meet user needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Lead Business Analyst, you will:

  • be a leader in the business analyst community and help to develop the business analysis function within ICS.
  • be accountable for the quality, coverage and management of business analysis activities and outcomes across programmes and projects.
  • actively share your knowledge and mentor other members of the team, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, tools and support to provide quality business analysis.

The above responsibilities are not exhaustive, and the post holders may be required to undertake some additional tasks not listed above, within the remit of their grade, to support the team.
As a line manager, you will be responsible for working with your members of staff to define their objectives, as well as managing their development and performance.
