About the Role As a Lead Business Analyst, you will make an impact by bridging business needs and technology solutions for Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance operations. You will be a valued member of our consulting team and work collaboratively with product owners, scrum teams, business stakeholders, and external partners. In this role, you will: Lead requirement gathering through workshops, interviews, and document analysis, translating business needs into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria. Collaborate with Product Owners and Scrum teams to prioritize backlogs and ensure timely delivery in an Agile environment, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Define User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategy, prepare test cases, and coordinate execution with business users. Act as a liaison between business units, IT teams, and external vendors, managing expectations and ensuring transparent communication. Apply deep domain expertise in the P&C insurance policy life cycle (quote, bind, issue, endorsement, renewal, cancellation) and support underwriting processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a position requires 3-4 days a week in a client office in Teaneck, NJ. What you must have to be considered Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the Property & Casualty insurance domain. Expertise in requirement elicitation techniques and documentation. Hands-on experience with Agile methodology (Scrum/SAFe preferred). Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Strong understanding of policy administration systems and underwriting workflows. Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, and MS Office Suite. These will help you succeed Certifications such as AINS, CBAP, SAFe Agilist, or equivalent. Exposure to digital transformation initiatives in insurance. Compensation $110,000–$138,000 This position is eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
