With over 30 years of experience in semiconductor innovation, we bring that purpose to life across every part of the business—from breakthrough product development and customer success to how we show up for each other and the communities we serve. The Opportunity Allegro MicroSystems is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Buyer to join our Global Supply Chain team. This critical role will be responsible for strategic sourcing, vendor management, and procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services essential for our operations. The Lead Buyer will play a pivotal role in optimizing our supply chain, driving cost efficiencies, and fostering strong supplier relationships to support Allegro's growth and innovation. What You Will Do Lead the procurement process for assigned categories, including strategic sourcing, vendor selection, negotiation of terms and conditions, and contract management. Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with business objectives, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply chain efficiency. Manage supplier relationships, conduct regular performance reviews, and drive continuous improvement initiatives with key vendors. Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and other internal departments to understand material requirements and ensure seamless supply chain integration. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, economic, and logistical challenges, to ensure continuity of supply. Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing benchmarks to inform procurement decisions and identify new sourcing opportunities. Drive cost savings initiatives through effective negotiation, value engineering, and alternative sourcing strategies. Ensure compliance with Allegro's procurement policies, ethical standards, and relevant industry regulations. Mentor and support junior buyers, contributing to the development of the procurement team. What You Will Need 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably within the semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing industry. Proven track record of successful negotiation, cost reduction, and supplier management. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed procurement decisions. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, capable of building strong relationships internally and externally. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sourcing plans. Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and e-procurement tools. Solid understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory management. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, C.P.M.) is a plus.
