JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • To support NTU Education 2025 and beyond, this role is critical as part of the Career & Attachment Office (CAO)’s strategy to develop NTU students into future-ready graduates.
  • As a Senior Assistant Director, this role is responsible for leading a team of coaches to deliver impactful career development programmes and employment outcomes for postgraduate students and NTU scholars.
  • This strategic role, as a Lead Career Coach for NTU postgraduate (PG) students and NTU scholars, guides, coaches and empowers them in their personal self-discovery, career exploration and professional development, thereby enhancing their employability and employment aligned to their career interests and goals.
  • The role includes being a Career Business Partner for stakeholders involved.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • A recognised degree with 10 to 12 years of experience, including at least 7 years’ experience in career coaching/counselling/career services/graduate recruitment/human resources/executive search/learning and development.
  • A relevant Masters degree is a bonus.
  • Change agent and constantly initiating new ideas within the College-level team of Career Coaches to increase awareness and CAO’s services to the students.
  • Relevant career coaching certification(s).
  • Possess qualifications/certification in self-assessment and career profiling tools.
  • High performing coach with experience in engaging:
  • Students and early career talents
  • High performing students- Highly diverse student groups - by nationality, age group, work experience
  • Knowledgeable in traditional and technology/AI-enabled career coaching tools.
  • Knowledgeable of industries and workplace and employer expectations.
  • Strong initiative, self-motivated, and focused on helping students to achieve career success.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a high-performing team in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong expertise in providing career advisory services to postgraduate students, with an understanding of coursework and research needs.
  • Active listener with strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Meticulous with strong organisation and administration skills.
  • Excellent team player with excellent interpersonal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools and in using data to measure outcomes, inform strategies, and improve services.

Responsibilities

Overall responsible for the career-readiness of NTU PG students and NTU scholars.

  1. Strategic Role:
  • Develop coaching strategies to ensure students’ career-readiness.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to curate and execute career development programmes.
  • Collaborator and Point of Contact (POC) to all stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on the impact of career development programmes.
  • Leverage data insights to refine strategies and optimize the delivery of career services.
  1. Leadership Role:
  • Lead and mentor career coach/es to deliver high-quality coaching.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and provide professional development opportunities for the team.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team, encouraging data-driven approaches and best practices in career coaching.
  1. Coaching Role:
  • Provide 1:1 coaching and conduct small group coaching.
  • Guide students in exploring their career preferences, strengths, values and interests.
  • Coach students in their career exploration and planning.
  • Provide students with information and resources on career-related topics (job search strategies, resume writing, interview skills, industry skills frameworks, career workshops etc).
  • Coach students in strategies for internship and job search.
  • Engage students, student groups, and faculty members in career awareness and preparation matters.
  • Customize and deliver schools’ career engagement activities to increase students’ employability (e.g., Industry-Specific skills workshops, networking events, and alumni-sharing sessions.
  • Collaborate with the Industry Relations team to identify and develop partnerships with employers
  • Involve in schools’ career-centric activities (e.g. PG Career Day).
