OVERVIEW

Falcon Heights Contracting, a premier custom residential home construction company, is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our skilled team. This role requires a hands-on leader with expertise in concrete formwork, framing, finishing, and siding, who can supervise and inspire a small crew while ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and adherence to custom design plans. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of residential construction processes. Flexibility, a positive work ethic, and a respectful attitude toward team members are essential to thrive in our dynamic, custom-build environment. EXPERIENCE

  • Red Seal certification with a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, preferably in custom residential projects.
  • Occupational First Aid is an asset. Additional pay may be available for successful applicants with current OFA Level 3 certification.
  • Knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulation and industry best practices.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience leading and motivating teams on construction sites.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, building codes, and residential construction methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately.
  • Understanding of mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing and envelope.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials (up to 50lbs), working in various weather conditions, and standing, walking, or climbing for extended periods.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate small crews of carpenters and labourers on-site, fostering teamwork and efficient workflows.
  • Interpret detailed blueprints, drawings, and specifications to accurately determine project requirements and ensure precise execution.
  • Perform skilled carpentry tasks including concrete formwork, framing, siding, and finishing with high standards of quality.
  • Maintain rigorous safety standards and promote a culture of safety on all job sites.
  • Mentor and train apprentices and junior carpenters, supporting their professional development.
  • Coordinate with Site Supervisors and Project Managers to communicate project updates, resolve issues, and ensure timely procurement and management of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Manage tools, materials, and equipment to maintain project readiness and efficiency.
