Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Framing luxury and custom homes and cottages as well as new additions and other structures (footings, walls, floors, stairs, knee walls, trusses and roofs)
  • Leading, coordinating and supervising a team of journeyman and experienced framers to ensure efficient workflow, adherence to project timelines and high-quality workmanship
  • Providing mentorship, guidance and training to journeyman framers to enhance their skills and foster professional growth
  • Ensuring compliance with all building codes, safety regulations and industry standards
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work site and overseeing the proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Communicating effectively and collaborating with crew members, other trade contractors, clients and property owners
  • Operating company-owned telehandlers/zoom booms/forklifts

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO DO IT:

  • Proven experience as a lead carpenter/framer with minimum 5 years of residential framing experience
  • Strong knowledge of framing techniques, building codes and construction practices
  • Ability to interpret and analyze architectural plans, blueprints and specifications to understand project requirements and ensure accurate execution of tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment while ensuring the utmost attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Safety boots and hard hat
  • Basic pouch with hand tools (framing hammer, tape measure, speed square, chalk line and utility knife)
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence
  • WHMIS Certificate and Working at Heights Training
