Description

ABOUT US

We are a small but established Bristol-based contractor, specialising in high-performance extensions, loft conversions, and domestic retrofit. Founded in 2014 and years of hands-on craftsmanship, we are entering a period of organic growth with a strong pipeline of projects and close relationships with Bristol architects, suppliers, and clients.
Our approach combines sustainability and quality: we champion low-carbon materials, invest in the best tools and systems, and prioritise waste reduction and CO₂ reduction. We have developed robust systems for project management, cost control, and quality assurance, which we are constantly refining to improve productivity and deliver smoother, more efficient builds.

  • Essential: Full UK driving licence; GCSE Maths & English, NVQ3 or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Desirable: Retrofit training; SSSTS/SMSTS; First Aid; PASMA; plant operator or other site safety tickets, other construction qualifications

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidates with their own suitable vehicle (Euro 6/LEZ-compliant, smart and presentable) are also welcome to apply
  • Ideally with a clean driving record (no recent points, endorsements, or claims)
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

This role would suit a skilled carpenter or multi-trade builder who is ready to step up into more responsibility and grow into a Site Manager position. You will start by taking on lead responsibilities on site — running day-to-day operations under the Director’s guidance — and gradually take on more site management, client liaison, and coordination duties as you progress.
You’ll be hands-on, setting the bar high for workmanship, while learning to manage subcontractors, staff, and client relationships. This is an opportunity to grow into a senior role while working on some of Bristol’s most interesting sustainable construction projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead by example on site, setting high standards of workmanship and professionalism
  • Take day-to-day responsibility for site operations, with support from the Director
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, architects, and suppliers
  • Keep accurate site records, sketches, and reports using digital tools
  • Learn and develop site management skills with training and mentoring
  • Contribute to sustainable construction practices and problem-solving
