Description
Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) is a collaborative project involving local police, prosecutors, public defenders, corrections officers and social service providers designed to divert individuals arrested or suspected of low-level property crimes, drug offenses and/or prostitution into social services rather than the criminal justice system. These individuals will be engaged in supportive services with the goal of reducing legal recidivism and improving quality of life. LEAD case manager respond to police referrals as well as other social contact referrals within the Everett and Lynnwood city limits. LEAD Case Managers will also provide engagement and intensive case management for eligible and willing participants for this diversion program. Primary responsibilities include providing screening, outreach, long-term engagement and supportive services for participants through intensive case management activities and collaboration with LEAD partners, service providers, housing providers and other community organizations. The case manager will engage participants on the street and at social service provider facilities to establish a working relationship and offer services. Provide advocacy and support for participants within the criminal justice system including court appearances and written communication. Accompany and transport participants to appointments as needed using company vehicles. Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology or other human services-related field required. Undergraduate degree related to social services or behavioral health and two years’ experience working directly with this population or five or more years of relevant experience working directly with this population may be substituted for educational requirement. * Understanding of harm reduction along with a demonstrated passion for serving individuals experiencing homelessness and co-occurring disorders required. Street outreach experience providing services and resources to the populations we serve a plus. * Valid Washington State Driver’s License (local travel on behalf of the Agency is a job requirement). * Available for on-call response rotation to law enforcement for arrest diversion referrals. * Must be able to pass a Washington State Patrol criminal background check and pre-employment drug test. 10 hour shift Weekends as needed Benefits: Dental insurance Employee assistance program Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance
