Position Summary: The Lead Certified Medication Technician (Lead CMT) provides high-quality resident care and medication administration under the supervision of the Director of Residential Services while also serving as a leader within the Nursing Department. This role includes managing the nursing schedule, coordinating and delivering staff education, and ensuring appropriate staffing levels by filling call-outs and open shifts as needed. The Lead CMT supports daily operations, promotes regulatory compliance, and maintains a positive, professional work environment. Schedule: On site, Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm (Must be available to fill-in open shifts as needed) Job Reporting: Reports directly to the Director of Residential Services. Primary Responsibilities: Medication Administration & Resident Care Provide primary care and services to residents under medical supervision. Maintain compliance with state regulations and facility standards. Follow facility medication administration policies. Prepare, administer, and document medications accurately. Verify medication ingestion or application. Ensure new resident medications are physician- or pharmacist-verified. Understand medical terminology and abbreviations. Assist residents with daily living activities. Act as liaison with residents, families, and internal departments. Assist in emergency evacuations. Leadership & Department Support Create, manage, and maintain the full nursing department schedule. Monitor staffing levels and adjust coverage as needed based on census. Respond to call-outs and fill open shifts promptly. Track attendance, requests, and staffing patterns. Plan and deliver staff training and in-services. Ensure staff maintain required certifications. Mentor and support new CMTs and caregivers. Support the Director of Residential Services with workflow coordination. Assist with audits, QA tasks, and compliance monitoring. Participate in required workshops and trainings. Requirements Requirements Current and valid Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification. Prior CMT experience; leadership experience preferred. Must be willing to fill open shifts if no one is available. Prior experience with Scheduling system preferred especially in Assisted Living/Personal Care Homes. Strong customer service skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to multi-task and remain calm in fast-paced settings. Commitment to a positive and professional work environment.
