Description

Please note: For Irish residents/citizens, this role is offered as a full-time employee position. For applicants based outside of Ireland, this role will be offered as a contractor position.
We’re VOID Interactive, the kick-ass team behind the best-selling FPS game, Ready or Not. We’re made up of some seriously talented individuals who love games and creating awesome content together. Currently, we’re expanding our roster and seeking a dedicated Lead Character Artist to join us remotely.
As the Lead Character Artist, you’re the visionary behind our game’s characters, infusing them with personality and charm. Working closely with artists, designers, and project leads, you’ll ensure our characters come to life in ways that captivate and immerse our player base.

Responsibilities
  • Leading the creation and refinement of character concepts, designs, and models, ensuring they align with project goals and artistic vision.
  • Overseeing and providing guidance to the Character Art Team, fostering creativity, and maintaining consistency in style and quality across all characters.
  • Collaborating with Directors, Animators, and Engineers to ensure seamless integration of character designs into Ready or Not and other future projects.
  • Working closely with production to implement efficient workflows and processes to streamline character creation pipelines, from concept to final model.
  • Addressing technical challenges and optimising character assets for performance and compatibility across various platforms.
  • Providing mentorship and support to junior artists, fostering their growth and development within the team.
  • Actively participating in feedback sessions and critiques to refine character designs and ensure they meet project requirements.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in character design and 3D modeling techniques.
  • Contributing to the development of style guides and documentation to maintain consistency and cohesion in character art assets.
  • Providing feedback to outsourced vendors re: characters, and testing of provided updates within Unreal Engine where necessary.
Of course, you won’t be alone on this mission - you’ll be collaborating with the entire team and outside vendors to ensure we’re maximising our efforts and achieving our goals!
