Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educatio

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience underwriting middle market, corporate and investor real estate clients including documentation, due diligence and regulatory compliance processes
  • Completion of a formal credit training program
  • Strong cash flow and asset-based lending credit analysis skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with bank syndications, multi-bank participations and clients with varying and complex capital structures including collateral and cash flow waterfalls; subordinated debt layers; and complex ownership structures
  • Experience negotiating, managing and amending complex credit facility legal documentation
  • Strong risk management and compliance skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial banking products and services
  • Knowledge and understanding of M&A, ESOP, IRE or leveraged transactions
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Microsoft Excel experience including financial modeling

Responsibilities

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager in Middle Market Banking as part of the South-Central Division Credit Portfolio Management team. This key position is responsible for credit portfolio management to meet the long-term financial objectives and risk tolerance for commercial banking clients with a focus on Investor Real Estate. In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives including those that are cross functional, with broad impact, and act as a key participant in overseeing lending activities for a wholesale banking business and geographic market
  • Review and research complex multifaceted, large scale, and long term business challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
  • Make decisions in complex and multifaceted situations requiring understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead the broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid level to more experienced managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Lead projects and teams or serve as a peer mentor

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to work a hybrid work schedule 4 days in office, 1 day remote
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
