Description

THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a Lead Consultant Vehicles Systems, Transit, Bus & Fleet within our Transportation Systems group, you will lead the technical delivery, assurance, and lifecycle performance of vehicles—covering transit buses, school buses, private coach, paratransit, and municipal/service fleets. Focus exclusively on vehicle-side responsibilities: specification, design review, acceptance, operational audits, lifecycle upgrades, and technical training. You will be the go-to authority for ensuring vehicles meet client requirements from procurement to mid-life overhaul, supporting both operations and maintenance teams with the knowledge and tools to succeed.

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical specification development for Diesel, Hybrid, BEB, FCEB, and ULEV fleets, ensuring every detail addresses safety, integration, lifecycle cost, and client requirements.
  • Oversee vehicle inspections at OEM facilities and post-delivery, ensuring all units meet contract specs and coordinating defect resolution for final acceptance.
  • Drive performance audits and recommend strategies to optimize operations, maintenance practices, and fleet reliability—maximizing return on investment and minimizing downtime.
  • Plan and manage mid-life overhauls, including HV battery replacements, propulsion upgrades, and essential system refreshes to extend fleet life and compliance with updated standards.
  • Develop and deliver technical training for maintenance teams, covering HV safety, diagnostics, and advanced troubleshooting, and create targeted curricula to close skills gaps.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of zero-emission technologies and best practices.
  • Leverage data analytics (SQL/Python/BI tools) to identify trends, drive continuous improvement, and support data-driven decision-making for fleet modernization.
  • Champion safety and innovation, staying at the forefront of industry standards and technologies to ensure client fleets exceed performance and compliance expectations.
