COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Our Media is a leading special-interest content business, based in the buzzing, creative city of Bristol. We’re home to market-leading brands in craft, cycling, science and nature, homes and music.
We help our audiences pursue their passions through highly trusted, original content – in print, video and online. Our much-loved brands include BBC Science Focus, BBC Wildlife Magazine, Your Home, Gathered.how, BikeRadar and Cycling Plus.
We also have an award-winning content agency that works with major charities, brands and membership organisations to help them tell their stories and engage audiences better – in print, video, and online.

POSITION

The Lead Content Strategist is a pivotal role heading up a freshly formed client group working in close partnership with the group’s Client Partner and supporting the agency Creative Director.
It’s a genuinely transformational moment for the agency at OM as we’re evolving our ways of working and the type of work we do.
Working across a diverse set of clients and inspiring creative projects, the Lead Content Strategist will shape, lead and deliver world-class content grounded in insight, data and channel best practice.
Your love of, and aptitude for, imaginative storytelling will drive innovation, elevate creative excellence, and unlock growth opportunities for both clients and the agency at a watershed point in its transformation.
In this unique role, you’ll get the chance to be Editor on a market-leading and award-winning magazine in the leisure and entertainment space AND as the lead editorial creative across digital content programmes for a world-famous UK institution and an entertainment brand.
You’ll also support skills development across the creative department, studio and exciting new business pitches.
While you’ll be supported at every turn, the emphasis will be on autonomy, healthy risk-taking and empowerment, solving problems and developing ideas as you go.
For a full list of responsibilities, please see the job description on our website.

REQUIREMENTS

We’re looking for a strategic thinker with a passion for creativity and culture with an entrepreneurial spirit. At heart, you’ll be a lover of stories and the craft of telling them.
You’ll be delighted with a routine which one day sees you writing a treatment for a new branded video series, another briefing out article creation for a new magazine issue, and another working with our insight gatherers to develop new pitches. And that’s just the start.
You’ll love the opportunity to pick up the editor’s reins for a much loved and respected magazine just as much you’ll love to evolve the creative work digitally for your clients. You’ll be attuned to the cut and thrust of print content production while having spent recent years delving into digital and social-first strategies.
You’ll revel in finding new opportunities in emerging channels and applying the very latest insight from SEO to social trends.
You’ll relish the fast-moving pace of agency life, reacting to new challenges and changes with skill and grace and you’ll always be hungry to learn, improve and take the initiative.

OTHER INFORMATION
