Position Summary: The Lead, Contracts position influences successful business outcomes in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income and free cash flow for new and continuing programs. Provides business, contractual and risk mitigation strategy guidance. Analyzes new laws, regulations and contract trends for potential impact on business unit goals and objectives. Protects the interest of the company by understanding and interpreting contractual terms and conditions. Utilizes working knowledge of regulations including Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), FAR supplements (e.g. DFARS) and other agency regulations. Analyzes significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and corporate policies and procedures. Manages the contractual review of solicitations, proposal development, contract change control process and overall contract administration. Establishes and maintains primary contractual interface with the customer. Maximizes cash through innovative contract formation and negotiation to achieve business objectives. Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction. Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches. Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products. Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results. Nature of Supervision Work is guided by individual annual goals and objectives with minimal oversight or direction. Qualifications: * Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. * Minimal travel could be required as part of the job responsibilities.  * Proven expertise in reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating complex terms and conditions. * In-depth knowledge of government contracting, with an advanced understanding of industry, best practices. * Hands-on experience with FAR, DFARS, and other applicable federal agency regulations strongly preferred. * Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and analysis. * Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly. * Skilled in interpreting complex contractual language and translating requirements into actionable strategies and compliant contract terms. * Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies in high-stakes contract environments. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
