Responsibilities

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Credit Risk Officer to become a member of the Risk Asset Review group within Corporate Risk.
As a part of Wells Fargo’s credit risk review function, Risk Asset Review, this role is responsible for assessing credit administration practices and adherence to interagency credit review guidelines through targeted and portfolio examination quality standards, ensuring relevant controls are followed and executed, and deficiencies are identified and addressed. This role will be specifically responsible for monitoring and evaluating the quality of consumer lending practices, such as credit administration, portfolio quality/trends, and adherence to the credit policy and risk appetite in the business. The role engages with business, independent risk management, and executive management to share the findings on a regular basis.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives including those that are cross-functional with broad impact and act as key participant in driving the company credit culture, desire, and business performance for Credit Risk
  • Review and analyze complex strategies, programs, and policies with a direct and significant impact on credit risk appetite and culture
  • Receive direction from leaders
  • Develop and utilize analysis capabilities to assist the commercial exam teams with examinations
  • Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal and external customers
  • Collaborate with business for oversight of risk management
  • Interact with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on risk related topics
