Where You'll Come In As a Lead Data Engineer at Tensure, you will own the design and delivery of modern data platforms for our clients. This role combines hands-on architecture, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll guide data strategy, mentor engineers, shape best practices, and ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions — particularly within Microsoft Fabric and Azure ecosystems. This is a leadership role for someone who can think strategically while still rolling up their sleeves when needed. What you'll do Architect and lead the implementation of modern data platforms and analytics solutions Design scalable ETL/ELT frameworks and oversee data pipeline development Own solution architecture within Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse design, Data Factory pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Power BI integration Establish data modeling standards and performance optimization strategies Lead technical discussions with clients and internal stakeholders Mentor and guide junior and mid-level data engineers Define and improve data governance, security, and quality standards Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to align data architecture with business outcomes Drive automation and CI/CD practices across the data lifecycle Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies where appropriate Requirements 7+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles Proven experience leading data projects and mentoring engineers Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse architecture, Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, Power BI, OneLake) Expertise in SQL and advanced data modeling Strong Python skills for data transformation and automation Experience with orchestration tools (Apache Airflow or equivalent) Experience in Azure cloud environments (preferred) Strong understanding of data governance, security, and best practices Experience working in consulting or client-facing environments is a plus Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment Some of our Perks Private healthcare plan w/parental insurance 25 days PTO (Sick, holiday and vacation) + 11 Company Holidays A transparent pay structure with a clear path to promotion Understanding the interview journey An initial screening interview A technical interview (pairing - code challenge, case studies and/or hypothetical questions about how you would solve certain challenges) An interview with the team pertinent to your role A culture and values interview Offer Letter sent via email (or a decline with feedback)
