Job Details Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 Job Category: Precision Oncology Job Description: As a Lead Data Engineer, you will design, build, and optimize data pipelines that power oncology analytics products. You will lead a team of engineers, ensure adherence to best practices, and implement robust data quality and governance standards. In this role, you will leverage modularized capabilities across key pipelines and integrate teams, processes, and products to enable consistent, automated, and secure data management. You will simplify complex data operations and enable self-service predictive analytics by automating processes and implementing security and governance. We are committed to evolving and utilizing cutting-edge technology to develop scalable tools that simplify data operations, empowering customers to perform self-service operations to meet business needs. This role requires deep technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for building data products that are trusted, discoverable, and reusable. Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and delivering oncology data from multiple sources (EHR, claims, registries, genomics). Collaborate with Stakeholders to design data products with clear SLAs, documentation, and usability standards. Drive adoption of modern data stack technologies (Snowflake, dbt, Azure, etc.). Establish coding standards, CI/CD practices, and infrastructure-as-code for data pipelines. Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, GDPR) and internal governance policies. Qualifications Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Data Engineer. Programming Expertise: Expert in Python and SQL - plus working knowledge of one additional language (e.g., C# or JavaScript). Data Platforms & Warehousing: Expert knowledge of SQL and relational databases; extensive experience with Snowflake and ADLS2; strong understanding of data warehousing solutions. Cloud Platforms: Deep experience with Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. ETL & Orchestration: Mastery of ETL/ELT processes and tools (dbt, ADF, MageAI, or Airflow). Data Architecture: Proven ability to design and implement complex data architectures and models. Data Governance: Strong understanding of governance, privacy, and security best practices. Version Control: Expertise with Git and CI/CD workflows. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams. Communication: Exceptional ability to draft impact assessments, technical proposals, and explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders; experience handling external customer escalations (P1/P2). Problem-Solving & Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and commitment to data accuracy and compliance. Preferred Qualifications: Data Visualization: Experience with Tableau or Power BI or other reporting tools and designing architecture to enhance reporting. Machine Learning: Familiarity with ML and data science principles. Innovation: Track record of integrating emerging technologies and creating business use cases for adoption. Data Quality & Metadata Management: Expertise in architecting systems that leverage metadata for monitoring and improving data quality. Healthcare Domain Knowledge: Experience with oncology data sources (EHR, registries, genomics).
