This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead Data Engineer in India. In this role, you will lead a team of data engineers to design, develop, and deliver robust, scalable, and secure data solutions across modern cloud platforms. You will work closely with product and business teams to ensure that data pipelines, integration workflows, and analytics infrastructure meet performance, reliability, and compliance standards. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, mentoring, and project oversight, enabling you to influence the data architecture and operational practices. You will help establish best practices for data engineering, drive innovation in workflows and automation, and contribute to the strategic roadmap of cloud and data platform initiatives. Accountabilities Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data engineers, ensuring skill development, engagement, and effective project delivery. Design, implement, and optimize end-to-end data solutions, including pipelines, integrations, and cloud-based workflows across Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP, and Databricks. Ensure performance, scalability, security, and reliability of data solutions in production environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, analysts, and architects, to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Oversee documentation, presentations, and solution designs, including POCs, roadmaps, sequence diagrams, and logical system views. Establish best practices for data engineering, automated pipelines, workflow orchestration, and data curation. 8+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer, with proven ability to develop production-ready data solutions. Experience leading and mentoring other engineers, including performance management and career growth. Expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, and/or Scala. Strong SQL skills with experience writing, debugging, and optimizing complex queries. Experience with cloud data platforms and storage solutions, including Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP, S3, ADLS, HDFS, Kudu, or NoSQL databases. Knowledge of data integration and ETL/ELT technologies, such as Spark, Kafka, Streamsets, Matillion, Fivetran, NiFi, AWS Data Migration Services, or Azure DataFactory. Familiarity with workflow management and orchestration tools like Airflow, AWS Managed Airflow, Luigi, or NiFi. Strong client-facing communication skills, with experience delivering presentations and creating detailed technical documentation.
