JOB DESCRIPTION

U.S. Bank is seeking a proficient Data Modeler with requirements analysis and data design experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. We are seeking candidates in Saint Paul, MN, Tempe, AZ and Milwaukee, WI

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and document data from flat files, SQL Server and Oracle to support cloud migration.
  • Design intuitive, scalable data models aligned with modern cloud architecture best practices.
  • Recommend architectural improvements that support high performance, low-latency access to data.
  • Contribute to the creation of a robust semantic layer that enables self-service analytics.
  • Enable best practices in data governance, naming conventions, and model lifecycle management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 4 years experience within a total information technology (IT) environment.
  • At least 2 years experience with tools, facilities and techniques for managing and administering data.
  • At least 2 years experience with the development and implementation of logical and physical data models.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Deep expertise in data modeling for cloud platforms, especially Snowflake and DOMO
  • Solid understanding of both normalized and dimensional modeling.
  • Strong SQL proficiency, including writing complex queries for data extraction, transformation and analysis.
  • Experience in performing data validation, profiling and reconciliation using advance SQL techniques.
  • Familiar with ETL/ELT tools such as Alteryx, AWS Glue or similar platforms.
