AN OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Lead Data Science Engineer to join and help shape our Data Team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you’ll take ownership of the design and implementation of our unified data platform and DaaS offerings. You’ll work closely with data engineers, data scientists, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-impact data solutions that support both internal teams and external clients.
Please note, this is a hybrid role requiring in-office attendance at our Winchester or Worcester office twice a week, therefore we are looking initally for candidates who live within a 50 mile radius of one of these offices.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design and delivery of scalable data infrastructure and pipelines to support machine learning, analytics, and data product development.
  • Champion the development and rollout of Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) offerings, including APIs and secure data delivery mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust data and ML solutions.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the productionisation of machine learning models and their integration into live systems and client-facing applications.
  • Support data governance, quality, and compliance standards across the platform.
  • Stay on top of emerging technologies and trends in data science engineering, identifying opportunities for innovation.
