QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Dental X-ray certificate is required.
• The dental assistant has at least two years of experience in the practice of dental assisting.
• Coronal polishing certificate is a plus but not required.

The dental assistant is expected to perform routine procedures including, but are not limited to, the following:

• Takes radiographs as instructed by the doctor.
• Prepares all treatment rooms including, but not limited to, set-up, decontamination, sterilization of all instruments, cleaning and restocking.
• Suction and retraction.
• Intra-oral instrument transfer.
• Preliminary charting of missing teeth.
• Scanning of patient’s teeth/mouth.
• Demonstration of oral hygiene procedures, including, but not limited to, use of toothbrushes and dental floss.
• Shade selection for fabrication of appliances or restorations.
• fabrication, cementation, and removal of temporary restorations.
• Taking photographs.
• Recording patient treatment.
• Willingness to learn about 3D printing and digital dentistry.
