Description

IG Masonry Support Systems has combined experience with innovation to provide the most practical and advanced range of masonry support products on the market.
Based in Swadlincote, the Lead Design Engineer is responsible for designing, specifying and pricing high quality solutions in response to client enquiries whilst demonstrating commercial acumen.
You will also be required to meet client expectations by ensuring prompt replies to queries, utilising all information provided, implementing information gathered from design/site meetings and meeting site delivery dates. You will need to communicate effectively during a handover meeting with your appointed project team to ensure correct drawings are produced on time and in accordance with the design.

Responsibilities
  • Champion Health and Safety in the workplace, displaying excellent personal safety and challenging others when unsafe behaviour is observed.
  • Preparation of accurate, competitive and detailed technical schedules for IG Masonry Support products with the assistance of a dedicated internal structural engineering team.
  • Produce cost variations to support the live projects team.
  • Follow up schedules with customers via phone calls and emails to build relationships with key contacts.
  • Provide basic calculations to the current standard for all products specified.
  • Provide detailed handovers to the project team when orders are received.
  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to a team of Design Engineers, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Set clear expectations, delegate tasks and monitor team performance.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
  • Deliver excellent customer service; attend office and sites when required to develop customer relationships, solve technical issues and develop product design.
  • Carry out product presentations as a training aid to staff and customers.
  • Conduct site installation training sessions for customers when required.
  • Demonstrate effective use of the 6 Agreements of Collaboration.
  • Changes in market conditions and business environment may require the role holder to undertake other reasonable tasks related to the position.
