Lead Designer 📍 Leeds 💼 Competitive Package OCU Group is experiencing a sustained period of growth and expansion within the water and wastewater sector. Due to continued success in securing new work, we are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Lead Designer to join our growing team based in Leeds. This is a key role within the business, offering the chance to work on a wide range of projects while collaborating closely with Site Managers, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Clients, and other internal and external stakeholders. The Role As Lead Designer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality designs from concept through to completion, ensuring compliance, safety, and efficiency across all projects. Key Responsibilities Carry out upfront site surveys and desktop study requirements Utilise client GIS and document management systems Produce detailed design and as-built drawings using AutoCAD Prepare Design Risk Assessments in line with CDM 2015 Create PowerPoint presentations and technical reports Develop material schedules based on completed designs Print and prepare site packs and completion documentation Follow quality assurance processes and participate in design audits Support and mentor other designers within the team Attend internal and client meetings as required Provide regular progress updates to the Principal Designer Skills & Experience Degree or HND in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline (equivalent industry experience will also be considered) Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Competent in AutoCAD LT (2D) Good understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 Knowledge of the water or utilities sector is desirable Strong written and verbal communication skills Full UK driving licence (essential) Why Join OCU Group?
