IT professionals - KONE Corporation We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Developer, Business Intelligence (BI) to join our Business Intelligence team in Espoo. This role is instrumental in advancing our business intelligence capabilities and supporting strategic decision-making across key business function Commercial & Operations. The successful candidate will lead BI development initiatives, mentor team members, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and data governance standards. This role also requires deep expertise in modern data platforms, performance tuning, and deployment automation. Main responsibilities BI Solution Design & Development Design, develop, and maintain scalable BI solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric for the Commercial & Operations portfolio. Ensure user-centric BI design by creating intuitive, accessible, and consistent dashboards and reports through stakeholder collaboration, feedback integration, and continuous refinement. Translate business requirements into actionable BI solutions, including technical documentation and inputs for data product creation. Data Modelling & Performance Optimization Demonstrate proficiency in Direct Lake mode and semantic model creation within Microsoft Fabric for high-performance and scalable BI solutions. Expertly optimize semantic data models to improve report performance and responsiveness. Design and manage complex semantic models involving very large datasets, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and maintainability. Deployment & CI/CD Practices Possess a strong understanding of deployment pipelines in CI/CD environments within Microsoft Fabric, ensuring smooth and reliable release cycles for BI assets. Collaborate with DevOps and data engineering teams to integrate BI workflows into enterprise deployment strategies. Collaboration & Leadership Collaborate with the enterprise data platform team to design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines with robust troubleshooting capabilities. Work closely with Product Owners for the execution of EPICs. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (data engineering, operations, and product management) to ensure cohesive solution delivery. Conduct code reviews and enforce development best practices to ensure solution quality and consistency. Facilitate onboarding and training for business users to ensure effective utilization of BI platforms. Innovation & Best Practices Exhibit mastery in using Power BI shortcuts and advanced modelling techniques to streamline development workflows. Design and develop Fabric assets aligned with the Medallion architecture, building semantic models for efficient and scalable reporting. Introduce and evaluate new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance development efficiency. Promote adherence to usability and accessibility standards across all BI deliverables. Requirements for the role Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and morden data architectural principles. Strong grasp of UX principles in BI design and delivery. Hands on experience with Microsoft Power BI, Fabric, DBT and Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in scripting languages such as SQL, DAX, Python and Power Query. Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor development teams. Actively exploring and applying AI-assisted capabilities to improve productivity in BI solution development and delivery. Working in virtual matrix team with outstanding emotional intelligence skills, able to motivate team, remove the impediment, build excellent collaboration and psychological safe environment, champion for teamwork Self-motivated and proactive with a passion for exploring and mastering new BI technologies.
