Description

We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer for the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. You will work as a Lead DevOps Engineer within one of the platform teams of the client's Integration Competence Center (ICC).

You will develop and manage the API Management platform for internal (AMD) and external (AMX) use.

The platform is based on Google Apigee, with the management plane on Google Cloud and the data plane on an OpenShift platform within the client.Activities

  • You develop the API Management solution together with the platform team.
  • You coach and guide team members where necessary and take a leading role in technical choices and implementation.
  • You maintain an overview of progress and priorities and coordinate with stakeholders such as the architect within the ICC, the OpenShift team, and the network team.
  • You contribute to the transition from DEV to OPS for the internal API Manager.
  • You are working on developing an MVP for the external API Manager.

Background

The platform team consists of a mix of internal and hired DevOps Engineers; the goal is to gradually replace hired staff with internal employees. The current team lead has found a different challenge within the ICC, therefore they are seeking a replacement. You are open to formalization.Your profile

  • Strong background as a DevOps Engineer with demonstrable experience in platform development and management.
  • Experience with API Management solutions, preferably Apigee.
  • Knowledge of Google Cloud and OpenShift and experience with setting up management and data plans.
  • Experience guiding the transition from DEV to OPS and delivering MVPs.
  • Coaching skills and the ability to guide and develop team members.
  • Good oral communication skills, analytical ability, collaborative spirit, situational awareness, and results orientation.

Job requirements

  • You have at least five years of experience setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms.
  • You have at least five years of experience setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting in Apigee and Google Cloud Platform.
  • You have knowledge and experience with API management within enterprise environments.

Job preferences

  • You have demonstrable knowledge and experience coaching and guiding a platform team.
  • You have knowledge and experience with Keycloak
  • You have knowledge and experience with automated testing.
  • You have knowledge and experience with Jenkins, Jira, Git, and Confluence, and you work according to Agile methodologies.
  • You have experience with Java
  • You have knowledge and experience with monitoring and logging of a platform.
