Job Description What You Get To Do: A Lead Direct Support Professional is responsible for the coordination of services to the individuals served, including finance, medical, recreation, program services, family contact/involvement, education, and household management. A Lead provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect. The Lead Direct Support Professional position is also responsible to assist the program director with the coordination of services to the individuals served, including finance, medical, recreation, program services, family contact/involvement, education, and household management. This position assists the program director in maintaining consistency in program implementation, individual care, and communication with staff and interdisciplinary team members, including the day or residential program. The lead direct support professional also carries out the duties of a direct support professional.
